A Gigachad is a man who is incredibly buff, confident, and charismatic. He is the ur-man, who many other men aspire to be. (Though they know they never can.)
This term originated within a 4Chan post showcasing Russian bodybuilder Ernest Khalimov's sick bod. It has since taken on a life of its own, spawning oh-so-many memes and becoming a common (sometimes sarcastic) label for the "manliest" of men.
Origin of Gigachad
In 2017, the original Gigachad first appeared on 4Chan. In a post to the /pol/ board, an anonymous user shared a Photoshoppped, black-and-white photo of Ernest Khalimov alongside the following message:
"Years of Bogdanoff research into genetic augmentation has finally yielded fruit. Behold, the Gigachad. The perfect human specimen destined to lead us against the reptilians. We are all witness."
From there, use of Khalimov's photo and the Gigachad designation quickly took off. It spread from 4Chan to Reddit, YouTube, Twitter, and other platforms, in both meme and text form.
