Hill Bagging

What is hill bagging?

Tracking the hilltops you have hiked

Hill bagging is when hikers make lists of the hilltops they have reached. It is similar to peak bagging but reserved for hills that don't reach mountain status.

Hill bagging is prominent in regions that are not mountainous, but still hilly enough to provide steep inclines to be hiked. Places in the U.S. that fall in this category include Minnesota and Michigan.

Most hills on hill bagging lists are scenic with trails that are friendly to novice and casual hikers. Hill baggers may also be into lake bagging, which is when people track the lakes they swim in.
