In my infallible opinion
Well IMIO, I think the Celtics are better than the Lakers this year.
|IMO||In my opinion|
|IMHO||In my honest opinion|
|IMHO||In my humble opinion|
|IMAO||In my arrogant opinion|
|IMBO||In my biased opinion|
|IMSO||In my sovereign opinion|
|Douchebag||An arrogant jerk|
|Hot take||A controversial opinion|
IMIO stands for "in my infallible opinion." This conceited variant of IMO is sometimes used to precede someone's hot take.
Most often, however, IMIO is used in jest by friends and co-workers who do not actually consider themselves infallible. In these instances, the extra I in IMIO is a form of sarcasm.
If you want to express your opinion more humbly (or honestly), you may want to use IMHO instead. If you want to express your opinion in an even douchier manner, you can use IMAO or IMSO.
