IOC means International Olympic Committee. It represents the organization that plans and directs the summer and winter Olympic and Youth Olympic Games.
The IOC is based in Lausanne, Switzerland was created in 1894 by Pierre de Coubertin and Demetrios Vikelas was its first president. It has been in charge of every Olympics since 1894 to the present. Some of the responsibilities of the IOC include to ensure the regular celebration of the games, to act against any form of discrimination that affects the Olympic Movement, and o encourage and support the organisation, to encourage the development and coordination of the sports competitions.
