Medial collateral ligament

An acronym for one of the four major ligaments in the human knee, which is located on the inner side of the knee.

The MCL helps provide stability and strength to the knee joint. It is most commonly seen in sports, especially football and skiing, injuries. Another popular ligament acronym is the ACL.
