An acronym that stands for the National League Division Series.
The acronym often appears during MLB's postseason when playoff teams battle for the World Series trophy. The NLDS was permanently implemented in 1995 and is a best-of-5 series that is played by teams that have either won their division or the wild card in the NL. There are two division series in the NL, the winners of those two series play each other in the National League Championship Series. The winner of that goes on to the World Series to play against the ALCS winner for the championship.
