NOM

What does NOM stand for in texts and online?

No offense meant

When messaging, a person may send "NOM" to communicate that they did not intend to offend the recipient. For example, after sharing a politically charged hot take, a person may send "NOM" if they think it might make the other person mad.

While NOM can be helpful online since almost everyone on the Internet gets offended, the acronym is rather obscure, with not many people using it. Also, people will more likely relate it to "nom nom" (mimics an eating noise to signify something delicious).

Example

NOM, but ur pink polka dotted tie is quite...unique
I know, I luv it!

NOM, of course!
