StarCraft 2 (SC2) players use rax as an abbreviation for barracks. The barracks is a Terran building that can produce infantry units, including Marines, Marauders, Reapers, and Ghosts.
Most commonly, you'll see rax used within the names of various Terran strategies, such as 3-Rax Reaper, 2 Rax, 11 12 Rax, and Proxy Rax. These strategies all involve building some number of barracks, usually as quickly as possible.
