In baseball, a round-tripper is a home run. It is a baseball slang term often used by play-by-play announcers and sportscasters.
The term plays off of the "round trip" term used by airlines to describe a flight that gets you to your destination and back home. When you hit a home run you start at home, go to each base and then return to home plate. The term may also appear as "round tripper."
