Shippers use SALS to stand for "ship and let sail." Fans who subscribe to this philosophy believe other fans should feel free to ship whatever fictional relationships they want.

In contrast, anti-shippers (aka antis) and other more-strident fans believe some ships are just plain wrong. These vocal superfans often critique other shippers' OTPs on social media and in forums, because they just can't bring themselves to stay quiet and SALS.
