Schway is another word for cool, awesome, or rad. This term became popular due to its use in the animated series Batman Beyond, and is mostly used by 90s kids who grew up watching that show.
Origin of schway
Although most people who use the word schway picked it up from Batman Beyond, the term first appeared in a different WB animated series. Characters in the 1998 show Invasion America, an animated series in which aliens attempt to take over Earth, also used schway to mean cool.
How exactly schway made the leap from Invasion America to Batman Beyond, a show set in the future and starring new, teenage Batman Terry McGinnis, is unknown. However, McGinnis and his friends often used schway in place of cool, to emphasize that the show took place in the future. (Look, everything's different! Even teen slang!)
More recently, schway has appeared in various Batman Beyond spinoffs and other DC TV shows and comic books. For example, the character XS (who is from the future) used schway on The CW's The Flash.
