Slime

What is a slime?

A good friend

Slime is an affectionate term for a person who is looked upon very favorably, like a friend, brother, mate, or homeslice. It is most often used in rap songs and online, especially on social media.

Where did slime come from?

One of the earliest pieces of digital evidence of "slime" comes from a tweet by Rapper N.O.R.E. in 2009. Other rappers have also used it in their songs and it eventually became mainstream popular in the 2010s to refer to people that are close and trustworthy.

How do I use slime?

You can use slime whenever you want to refer to your "dawg" (a close friend or confidant). But most people use it on social sites, like Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram, in a bragging manner to proclaim their best buds.

Be judicious when you use it since most people unfamiliar with the term may misunderstand it since slime typically has a negative connotation.

Example

Oh yeah, man. He's my slime
