A victory lap is a golf term for when a ball spins around the lip of a hole and falls in. It comes from the ball travelling all the way around a hole and the racing tradition where the winner of a race takes a lap around the course.
Along with a "back-door putt," a victory lap is one of the more exciting moments in golf as it seems to be come out but then fall in. A victory lap is the opposite of a Botox putt that lips out of the hole.
