Work Girlfriend

A work girlfriend is a woman you spend the most time with at work. The term is meant to be purely platonic, whether between a man and a woman or two women.

Most people use the term in a joking, non-serious way. It is not meant to make a SO jealous, only to convey how close the friendship is between the two people.

However, sometimes a close relationship between a work boyfriend and a work girlfriend does lead to romantic feelings. If the relationship crosses any boundaries and permeates outside the work environment, feelings of jealousy may arise in the SO. So make sure the SO's wishes are respected.
