AD

What does AD stand for in League of Legends?

Attack damage

League of Legends (LoL) players use AD to stand for Attack Damage. This stat determines the amount of physical damage that a champion's basic attacks deal. It also contributes to the damage calculation of some abilities, items, and runes.

Most champions' base AD increases at each level up, making their basic attacks stronger. Items, abilities, and runes can also grant bonus AD. Together, these numbers comprise a champion's total AD.

At times, you may see players refer to a certain champion as an AD. This means that champion (or the player's build of that champion) specializes in dealing attack damage.

Example

The B.F. Sword is great because it gives +40 AD
LoL teams typically balance AD and AP attackers
