Chirp

What does chirp mean?

Insult

To chirp at someone is to diss or mock them. Someone who is being insulted may refer to the insult as a chirp because, to them, the insult is as meaningless and annoying as a bird's chirping.

If you want to shut down someone who is chirping at you, you can tell them to:

Or, you can clap back at the chirper - though, as the Bible says, a chirp for a chirp leaves everyone deaf.

Example

Gosh, I can't stand that guy, he keeps chirping at me

When that high school bully keeps chirping at you
