Der is a term people express when something is stupid or overly obvious, possibly in response to someone's brain fart (BF). It is a variation of derp and means the same as duh.
People may use der in many situations in real life (IRL), when messaging, and online. For example, if your brother asks what the number is for 911, you may reply with, "Der. 911." Or, you might ask your friend in a message online, "what's your sister's name again? der. nvm. i remember."

A baseball statistic that refers to a team's defensive efficiency.
The DER indicates how good a team is at recording defensive outs from defensive opportunities. To calculate the DER, you divide the total number of hits allowed in play (no home runs) by the total number of defensive opportunities (any ball hit in play but not including home runs) and subtract from one.
