Bf
Big freaking sword
CensoredA BF in League of Legends (LoL) is a sword that adds a significant amount of attack damage to the champion that wields it. "BF" stands for "big freaking" (censored for the alternative vulgar "f" word).
The acronym comes from the BFG9000 (big freaking gun) acronym popularized by the Doom franchise. It was added in patch 1.0, is one of the most expensive basic items in the game, and builds into the "Infinity Edge" and "The Bloodthirster" weapons.
You will most likely encounter BF when playing LoL with other seasoned gamers. However, they may also use BF to stand for "best friend," since the sword is a valuable asset.

Batters faced
BF is a baseball statistic that refers to the number of batters a pitcher has faced. The more innings a pitcher has pitched, the more batters a pitcher has faced (usually three or more batters per inning).
The stat is helpful for managers when strategizing during the game since batters typically perform better against a pitcher after they see their pitches in multiple plate appearances (and the pitcher usually becomes tired the more batters he faces). So, as a pitcher's BF number increases, they usually become less effective (this isn't always the case).
You can simply count the number of batters a pitcher faces to know the BF or multiply the number of times a pitcher has been through the opposing team's lineup by nine (the number of players in a lineup). Or, you can calculate a starting pitcher's BF by multiplying the innings a pitcher pitches by three, then adding any hits and walks allowed, the number of batters that reached base on error, and any batters hit by a pitch.

Brain fart
When a person experiences a brief absence of intelligence, they have a brain fart, or "BF." The expression comes from the briefness of a fart and its similarity to a temporary lapse of judgment.
To have a BF, you usually have to exhibit intelligence. People who consistently lack intelligence don't have BFs; they just do stupid things.
Most people use BF when messaging online and in texts to describe something stupid that was done or said. Instead of BF, people may also use the AFB acronym.
Examples of BFs include forgetting the name of your sibling's girlfriend or committing a blunder in a game. You may also have a BF when you can't remember your wedding anniversary.

Black Friday
Black Friday, which some people shorten to "BF," is the busiest shopping day of the year in the U.S. (in person and online). It is the day after Thanksgiving (late November) and the official start of the Christmas shopping season when retailers often slash prices to generate more sales and shopping interest.
You will likely see the BF acronym online, whether in messages, on social media, or in articles, but people may also use it when texting. For example, you might see an online article compiling "All the best BF deals." Or, your friend may invite you to a shopping expedition, "u wanna come along with us tomorrow morning? we r gonna hit up some bf deals."
Since Black Friday is so well known, people may also use BF when referring to the day after Thanksgiving, even if no shopping occurs. For example, you may get together with friends on Black Friday and invite them in a text, "u wanna get together for a friendsgiving on bf?"
Origin of BF
The "Black Friday" name gained prominence in the 1980s to refer to the day that put them "in the black," which is the ink color accountants used for sales/profits resulting in a positive sum for retailers (instead of "in the red" for negative numbers). As online messaging, texting, and social media gained prominence in the 2010s, people began to refer to Black Friday with the "BF" acronym to save space and time.

Bf is short for "boyfriend," a popular abbreviation that usually refers to a male romantic partner, although it can be a platonic relationship. The female version is "gf," another popular abbreviation short for "girlfriend."
The bf label is an essential step in the dating ritual in the western hemisphere. As people hang out or date, they eventually decide whether or not to become exclusive (they only romantically see each other).
When a guy becomes exclusive with his partner, he becomes a bf. Then, if the relationship keeps progressing, the next step is typically engagement (fiancé) and marriage (husband).
What are the responsibilities of a bf?
Stereotypical bf responsibilities include planning dinner dates, buying a cute stuffed animal, candy, and flowers on Valentine's Day, and giving his partner a promise ring. Also, a bf must say, "I love you," to his partner at some point, or else the relationship will self-destruct.
Who uses bf?
Tweens and teens primarily use the bf label when messaging online and in texts. Adults may use it too, but some don't like it because it sounds too juvenile (they often relent since it's such a universally recognized abbreviation).
