IDP is an acronym for individual defensive player, which is a type of scoring in fantasy football. IDPs are an alternative to the standard team defense scoring.
IDPs are often implemented in leagues that want to go deeper into fantasy football. Instead of drafting a whole team's defense, owners draft individual players at different positions such as linebackers, defensive linemen, and defensive backs. The players get points for their teams by recording sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles, etc.
