Lvl

What is lvl short for?

Level

Gamers use lvl as an abbreviation for "level." Most often, lvl refers to a player's current level (as in, "My PC isn't high enough lvl to fight that boss."). However, players may also use lvl to refer to a specific stage in a game (as in, "I haven't gotten to that lvl yet; I'm still in World 1.").

A player's level tracks how strong and/or accomplished their character is. Characters of higher levels tend to be stronger than characters of lower levels (though equipment and boosts can help lower-level characters make up the difference). Each level up provides a character with extra health and/or skills - which is why gamers find leveling up so exciting.
