Moving Mad

What does moving mad mean?

Acting out of character

If someone starts behaving strangely and doing things out of the ordinary for their character, they are "moving mad." For example, if your friend is notoriously stingy with his money but buys an expensive sports car, you might say he's moving mad.

Moving mad comes from London, but the reality show Love Island helped bring it to the mainstream. In the show, contestants often use moving mad to describe others making bizarre decisions.

Outside of the show, you will probably see moving mad on social media or hear it in person. For example, on Twitter, you might see someone post, "That guy's moving mad!" about a celebrity acting cray.

Example

Did you see the vid of that truck driver on the freeway?
