Sfty is a football abbreviation for a safety, which is when a player is tackled or loses the ball out of bounds in his own end zone. The play results in 2 points for the opposing team, which also gets the ball via a punt by the team that gave up the safety.
In FFB, the starting def can earn points for the team by recording safeties. The def can also earn points by making interceptions, recovering fumbles, sacking the QB, and scoring TDs.
