I is an abbreviation for interception and is seen in fantasy football (FFB) stats. An interception is when a defensive player catches a pass from the opposing team's player, most likely the QB, which creates a turnover.
Interceptions are usually recorded by defensive backs and linebackers that are covering WRs, TEs, and RBs. After making an interception, the team goes from defense to offense. In FFB, the i abbreviation is seen when looking at a defense's stats. Interceptions count as points for the defense along with recovered fumbles, QB sacks, and TDs.
