A UPF is a person who is very passionate about a person, sports team, book, video game, comic, TV show, or movie. It is an acronym that stands for "ultra passionate fan", which was made popular by Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movies.

UPFs take fandom to a whole new level. They integrate the movie, comic book, sports team, etc. into the fabric of their lives. Their passion influences their job, love life, family life, friends, where they live, and their appearance. Usually, UPFs remain respectful of the object of their passion, however some can turn into some real creepers.
