Vaxhole

What is a vaxhole?

A person who brags about being vaccinated

A vaxhole is a person who obnoxiously brags about being vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus. The derogatory name comes from the combination of "vaccination" and "a**hole."

Primarily, the term refers to people who are obnoxious about getting a vaccine regardless of whether they are correct or not. In 2021, people who were unvaccinated or staunch anti-vaxxers began criticizing people bragging about their vaccinated status on social media or in-person as vaxholes.

Where did vaxhole come from?

The term was coined by Del Bigtree of The Highwire in 2017 to refer to somebody that quotes vaccine safety science that does not exist. However, vaxhole didn't gain mainstream prominence until February of 2021 as the COVID-19 vaccine was distributed.

Who uses vaxhole?

People who have not yet received the vaccine or do not want to receive the vaccine are most likely to use the term. They may just be annoyed by people bragging about it or think that vaxholes are lemmings who are being controlled by the government.
