You will most likely only see "Wig" on social sites like Twitter or Instagram, but you may also see it in texts or on different pages online. It is most often used by teenagers and young adults and rose to popularity in 2019 and 2020.

The term comes from the idea of being so impressed that your body reacts in such a stunned way that your wig flies off your head. It is similar to the weave snatched phrase, which describes being impressed in a very surprised way just like a woman is surprised when someone snatches a weave off her head.
