Creep is a video game term used in DOTA for a basic unit that is not a hero, ward, building, or courier. A creep may be part of either group, neutral, a player-controlled unit.
When a player kills a creep he gains gold and XP, which can be used to buy items. The creeps spawn in the woods or run down lanes. However, creeps cannot gain XP or level up.
