Xp

What is xp short for?

Experience

Gamers use xp to refer to "experience" or "experience points." These are points a player earns for accomplishing tasks, such as defeating enemies or solving puzzles. Typically, earning enough experience results in a player leveling up - which means they become stronger and/or learn new skills.

For example, at the end of a DnD session, the dungeon master (DM) typically awards players xp based on the tasks the players completed. If a character receives enough xp to level up, they'll gain hp, and they may gain new skills and other stat increases.
