Floor is a term that refers to a player's downside, which is the potential production level of the player at his worst. It is commonly used in fantasy sports, such as football, baseball, or basketball.
A player's floor is the opposite of his ceiling, which is the potential production level of a player at his best. As a fantasy owner you have to be able to asses players' floors and ceilings in order to be successful. You also have to get lucky with sleepers and injuries. If you are wrong about a player's floor or ceiling you could draft him too low or too high and it could ruin your whole team and season. No pressure.
