Those discussing sports, music, or other elements of pop culture may use HOF to mean "hall of fame." A hall of fame is a building (or other institution) dedicated to acknowledging the best of the best in a certain career or hobby. Usually, a governing body inducts high-achievers into their niche's hall of fame, where their names will live on for the rest of time. (Or at least, until the hall of fame ceases to exist.)

Some notable halls of fame include:

  • The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • The Pro Football Hall of Fame
  • The National Toy Hall of Fame
  • The Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum
  • The Mascot Hall of Fame
