Last hitting is a DOTA term for when a player strikes the final blow on a creep. It is an important skill for a player to have because it is a primary way to acquire gold and XP.
The number of creeps a player has last hit is recorded by the Creep Score (CS). In order to prevent an enemy from recording a last kill is to kill a friendly creep, which is called denying.
