Snowman

What does snowman mean?

Golf score of 8

Snowman is a score of 8 on a golf hole. The term comes from the resemblance of the number 8 to the shape of a snowman.

To get a "snowman" in golf is a terrible score as most holes have a par of 3 or 4. Usually a snowman is achieved when your drive from a tee goes way off course, you get stuck in a sand trap, you hit into the water, or your putting game is terrible.
