Gamers sometimes describe broken or overpowered (OP) game elements as "busted." Busted elements wreck a game's balance, and they tend to turn the game into a competition to see who can use the busted element(s) most effectively.
For example, League of Legends (LoL) regularly releases busted new champions, whose abilities are overpowered compared to previous champions. These champions tend to get nerfed in later game patches, to restore game balance. (Until the next busted champ is released, of course.)
In games with competitive leagues, busted game elements are often banned so players cannot use them in tournaments. For example, Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments typically ban the Hyrule Temple stage, because its large size allows the very-speedy Fox to win via boring shoot-and-evade tactics.
