StarCraft 2 (SC2) players use ZvZ to stand for Zerg versus Zerg. This acronym describes a mirror match between two Zerg players.
In SC2 PvP (not to be confused with Protoss versus Protoss) games, players pick from one of the game's three races and attempt to defeat their opponent. The Zerg are a race of xenomorphic mutants whose units evolve and become stronger as the game progresses.
The ZvZ matchup can break in many different ways, depending on what sort of strategy each player chooses in the early game. This mirror match is also famously unforgiving; early misclicks can easily lead to a player's late game downfall.
