When a gamer says they are LFG, it means they're "looking for group." You're most likely to encounter LFG while playing online multiplayer games, such as MMORPGs and FPSes. These games require players to form groups (usually referred to as parties or teams) to play or to complete certain quests.

Players can LFG in a few different ways. One way is by posting LFG in in-game chat or forums. Another is by posting LFG in outside-the-game forums, such as a game-related Discord server. Finally, players can download dedicated LFG apps such as GamerLink, and use those apps to find others in search of a group.

People that are really excited about something may send "LFG" online or in text messages. It stands for "let's freaking go" or "let's f***ing go" and is typically used concerning competition, such as football or online gaming.

In competition, most people send LFG when getting amped for an upcoming competition. In these cases, a fan or player may tweet out their excitement just before a big game or match. Or, a player or fan may send LFG after a competition to celebrate victory.

People may also use LFG when they are really impatient and want to get going. For example, they may be waiting for a person to get in the car to go to a movie, or they may be late to school, and their friend is busy doing her hair.
