A person who has transitioned or is in the process of transitioning from male to female may identify as M2F. Trans people often use the M2F acronym online, especially on social media and when messaging.
M2F is a variation of MTF, which the LGBTQ community uses more often. On the other side, females transitioning to males use the F2M and FTM acronyms.
People may use M2F as a noun or adjective. For example, a woman may tell a potential suitor on a dating app that she is an M2F. Or, she may post in an online LGBTQ forum asking about procedures she should look into to complete her M2F transition.
