Male to female
MTF is an acronym trans people use to communicate that they are transitioning or have transitioned from male to female. It is the same as M2F, but the LGBTQ community uses MTF more often, especially online when messaging or posting in forums and on social media.
MTF is a quick way for people to say that while they were assigned the male gender at birth, they now identify on the feminine end of the gender spectrum. Conversely, if a female is transitioning or has transitioned to male, they will identify as FTM of F2M.
People may use MTF as a noun or adjective. For example, a woman may describe herself as an FTM in her Twitter bio. Or, she may post about her struggles as an FTM woman on TikTok.
Example
Wow, I didn't realize women's clothing sizes were so messed up
Yeah, just one of the things you discover as an MTF

When a message ends with MTF (more to follow), it means the person you're talking to will be sending additional details ASAP. This acronym is most often used in business contexts, when a manager can provide only partial information.
For example, if you ask your boss about next week's schedule, and they respond "You're definitely working Monday AM. MTF," it means your boss hasn't ironed out the week's schedule just yet.
