Pupper

Pupper is an affectionate, cutesy way to refer to a puppy. Dog-lovers refer to lovable puppies as puppers on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Reddit and other social media platforms. Your friends, family, and co-workers may also use pupper when discussing puppies in text and chat messages.

Like many online slang terms used to discuss pets, pupper is part of DoggoLingo, a collection of clipped, extended, and onomatopoetic terms used primarily to discuss very good bois. Pupper and most other DoggoLingo terms became popular in the late 2010s, thanks to the proliferation of pet-related Facebook groups and Twitter accounts. (It turns out, many people just want to use the Internet to look at pictures of cute pets.)
